My Bubby & Me

My Bubby was everything a human being should be.

In an effort to push myself through the grieving process and honour her at the same time, I completed this deeply emotional project.

Please join me as I outline the top 10 life lessons that I learned from her. I hope that my life lessons can become life lessons for you too.

Journey with Jennie (Audio story)

Hey, even love has to start somewhere ... While working on a public school reunion project, I started to go back in time. Far back. Farther than I thought was even possible.

And as I was traveling back, something miraculous started to happen; still shots of my childhood quickly flashed into my mind. As I sifted through images of my early years in Peterborough, I found pictures of a special little girl, who's name was still written on a tiny corner of my heart.

This story is a tribute to the innocence and purity of childhood love. I hope hearing my recollections, warms your heart, and takes you back to your earliest blush with love.

A Tribute to my Teacher

This is a special tribute to my high-school Law teacher: Mr. Bruno Scinto. A great teacher can make all the difference in our life. Mr. Scinto was an inspiration to thousands of students, and certainly was an inspiration for me. A teacher and a dear friend, Mr. Scinto will always be in my heart. I hope this tribute inspires you and reminds you of your favourite teachers and heroes. Special thanks to Brian Korson and Jeremy Melnick for their help with archive footage.

50 Shots

At the end of basketball practice at Northern, coach would make us all take 50 shots. We had to sink 35 of them to get to go home. If we did not, we had to start over again. Most people would be crushed to have to start over again... and again...and again...This was a great way to turn average shooters into great shooters. Thankfully, I was always one of the first to leave the practice - making usually between 35-40 out of the 50 shots. I would go for a rest and come back in the evening - all alone - and keep shooting. There is just something magical about being on the court for me - whether it be in a game or alone. We all need a place of escape and I am lucky enough to have the basketball court. I decided to do an experiment and I played sappy, corny songs from my youth, to see if I would shoot better... lol
